Picasso 1932 Tate Modern London. Have only just been able to catch up with this exhibition. Originally thought ‘same old same old’ but Picasso’s 1932 works so staged as to create a refreshing perspective and insights into this most prolific period of his life.

Picasso obviously idolised women and in so doing imposed his own unique interpretation on them.
Could they have been personally individualised and stand alone in their own right…
Or
… does their very existence depend upon Picasso’s presence?
I’d go for the latter – their images have now sealed their very existence into perpetuity – a gift that few of us will ever have the advantage of.
But without Picasso’s efforts, these women would have passed into the bottomless pit of timeless obscurity.

This I believe is best interpreted by Picasso’s ‘The Dream’ where her very format and existence is determined by the male dominating penis.

Picasso is one of those in the art world who rules supreme as he did his subjects. Just for a moment prick … and maybe the Emperor’s clothes will fall away…
or
… maybe what and how he portrays says it all – about man and woman and humanity and relationships and indeed life as we know it but maybe uncomfortable in acknowledging.
