The RA has now been in existence for 250 years. As part of its 250 celebrations, Friends were invited to a pre-opening event of its new extension and galleries.
Busy and a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the start of the next 250 years.

The Royal Academy London has undergone a complete re-vamp in time for its 2018 Summer Exhibition.
It has been extended to take over the former ‘Museum of Mankind’ Burlington Gardens and a new concrete bridge links the two sites.
This sketch simply illustrates the vaulted corridors now open to the public, linking Burlington House with the former Museum of mankind building.
The day was busy with 100s of enthusiastic Friends of The Royal Academy. The opportunity was provided to view exhibits, the new galleries, shop and coffee shop.
