A new and exciting event at Brockenhurst Village Hall on Tuesday 10 October 2023 6.30 to 8.30. Paint Vincent’s Chair
With the aid of templates or a grid or even a sketch to colour in, artists of all skill levels will enjoy taking home their own masterpiece of Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Chair’.
The evening will start with a short illustrated talk about Vincent and his ways of painting and a little history behind the painting of the ‘Chair’.
Materials are provided by the village hall and folk can chose which approach they prefer.
Suitable art paper, templates and sketches are all available to … Paint Vincent’s Chair
To the background of Italian Cafe music, some vino from the bar or even tea and coffee, the evening promises to be highly enjoyable with a little fun and a few laughs even.
Professional artists are of course naturally welcome and even if people haven’t picked up a drawing pencil since school, it is guaranteed that they’ll have something to be proud of to hang on their wall at home.
Vincent moved from Paris to Arles in the South of France in 1888 and rented ‘The Yellow House’ initially for 6 months.
A few weeks later he was joined by his friend Paul Gauguin and thus began one of the most remarkable stories in modern art.
The evening’s folk will hear all about this pleasant to tempestuous relationship that led to some of the most important works of art – ever.
An event that simply cannot be missed.
