In the Basque country of south-west France lies the resort town of Biarittz.
Biarittz France Cote Atlantique – Once a centre of France’s whaling industry, it then became a fashionable resort in the late 19th and early to mid 20 Century. It is still a great sea-side place to stay and especially to view its once grandure for the more affluent classes including the Empress Eugenie who the Hotel du Palais was apparently built for.
